I had a dream, a fantasy.
It was cold, and she huddled closer. They were past the dreaded exam, and nothing in the world mattered to them more than each other. Alone, the two figures walked side by side, bathed in the midnight moonlight.
Words passed between them in hushed whispers. Silence surrounded the garden as they approached the balcony. There, they stared down from the highlands at the city in all its electric glory. Two tiny figures in such a huge world, sharing the biggest thing man has ever known: love. He put his arm around her and she did the same, sharing warmth, love, and so much more.
They had waited so long for this moment, and nothing was going to ruin it. 8 months together had taught them patience and tolerance and understanding. It was nearly a year after they first started off as friends, and then progressed to so much more. Slowly, very slowly but surely, they grew attached to one another and soon there was no doubt that there could not be one without the other; so close were they that they were inseperable but by divine interference.
He was no romeo, nothing special could be seen on the surface. But delve deeper; therein lies the purest of hearts, beating solely for her. The love he had for her grew brighter with each beat, defeating all darkness and blackness that had existed in him. It is she whom he had pledged himself to, it is she whom he had waited so patiently for, it is she whom he had devoted himself to, it is her whom he had sought, it is she whom he has decided to spend the rest of his life with.
She was beautiful, but not merely by the judges of sight, but also within her the purest and whitest goodness sparkled through her whole person. As peaceful and tranquil as a quiet stream in the dead of the night, her thoughts were for him and him alone. She held him close as their hearts beat their rhythm, she cared for him as if her love knew no bounds, and she loved him as if there was no tomorrow.
The deserted garden in all its silence stared at the couple as they first hugged and held each other for an eternity. The morning sun's rays started to illuminate the eastern horizon. Then they released each other just slightly so they could stare into each other's eyes. The feelings expressed in that connection cannot be put into words, it was above the human language to be described. The sun slowly rose, and soon the garden will see another day.
At an unspoken word, the couple locked lips for the first time in their lives.
The sun's rays fell on them, and there they remained permanently in that close embrace and expression of love, until eternity.
I had a dream, an imagined life, a moment of bliss, a flash of euphoria. I shall wait my time.
