yeah yeah i noe i've been writing too much here lately... without posting photos as well. perhaps my blog is getting more boring by the minute. haha... anyways. last sunday i went for my unofficial bday outing... not reli an outing... supposed to ajak edwin for dinner, shabu shabu... coz i din wana ask my dad to pay soooo much lar. den dad offered to let me ajak more. so i ajaked vina, saby, n melody as well... den carmen invited me for a movie at 1u, n there was an extra ticket... so ajaked edwin. n vina cud come, so after our movie n lunch we ended up at neway karaoke. here we are! ALL VERY LAST MINUTE. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT EDWIN, VINA, SABRINA, OR MELODY, I'M SORRY!! RELI, IT WAS LAST MINUTE. din wana impose on my dad anyway. burnt quite a hole in his pocket leh.

today a girl from india, tina, asked me. "ming wai, do you take tuition?" i was like... wat?? everyday got classes all day and still think i've got time for tuition?? "no of course not la! no time wat." and she said...

like. wat the...? i heard 2 friends recommended me to tutor her somemore, coz she said she needs some help with math. not just chem k! math oso pulaks.

lemme explain. so far what we've been doing in chem and math... have all been covered in form 4. so... it's natural that i should noe these stuff rite? it's like revising my form 4 stuff. dont tell me you guys dono abt quadratic inequalities? discriminant? sketching quadratic graphs? all very darn simple coz we've learnt it before. of coz when we first started, it wasnt dat ez wat... n dats wat is happening now to foreign students who didnt study this... like tina. chemistry. titration. calculating moles and mass and concentration and all that crap. done before wat! so dats y i've been called chem expert la, math genius la, padahal... today sat beside one chunted girl in bio who was so totally into bio. now SHE's a bio expert for real. and she's reli reli cute too. xp

you know golf? yeah, d game of GOLF (Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden, i heard) is played by whacking a ball with a golf stick. you got various types of golf clubs rite? there's the driver, the woods, the irons, the pitching wedge, the sand wedge, and the putter. each club is used in different situations, depending on the distance you wana hit and the terrain your ball currently is sitting on. for your first shot from the teebox, usually a driver. from the nice, trim fairway, a wood or iron. nearby the hole, a pitching wedge. in a SAND TRAP or BUNKER, a SAND WEDGE. worth noting is the sand wedge's face is very flat and open.

so homer simpson, my great hero, is playing golf (for the 1st time!) with his boss, mr.burns. then homer hits his into a bunker aka sandtrap. he's at a loss of what to do, coz he's never hit into a bunker b4. so mr.burns calls out to him.

i bothered to do my homework last night.

i may not be as smart as ppl think me, but i hope to put in more effort than ppl give me credit for right now larh.

another week has gone away

as you, my loyal blog-readers, can obviously tell... it's been a week since i last updated. it feels reli reli long! haha.. nice to be back here. feels like my virtual home. ppl ask me if i got friendster and facebook and i go... "....yeah i do... but... i DO have a blog! come visit my blog!! my blog! blog blog blogg!!" so... dis IS my home. here in my home. hmm. reminds me, i shud upload dat song. love it to bits.

anyways... how has my week been, i hear u asking. (or at least, i hear myself asking myself... how sad is dat? =/ ...) my 2nd week of classes is relentless k. everyday i spend morning til evening at college mostly sitting in classes n listening to my lecturers and taking notes. lotsa notes. i hafta file dem away k, if not my bag gets real heavy. for my 3 science subjects we've begun like 'intro' to practical side. it's reli reli cool. physics we did like a simple pendulum experiment but our calculations are to calculate freefall acceleration, g, instead of to prove dat shorter string = shorter time. dat was so HIGH SCHOOL!!! dis is college man, and it's serious shit. even d formula's like alien to me. haha...

for bio we had some fun with light microscopes... we actuali had one each. and we prepared slides and had to learn to focus our slides to get d image in proper focus n all. damn cool.

chem was d most exciting. we did neutralisation by titration, but it's so much more interesting than i rmbred it in high school. oh wait, we never reli did much in high school. yeah. so sad. we got to play around with burettes, pippettes, flasks, beakers, concentrated sodium carbonate, concentrated hydrochloric acid, n lots n lotsa distilled water. haha... fun fun fun! but owh. yeah. serious shit. had to wear lab coats kae!

math is boring. all oso learn b4. swt.

gp is stimulating coz we debate in class all d time. more like i give my opinion and then someone else chips in their 2 cents worth and on and on and on til our 1 hour is up. geng leh. but i bet dis feeling of "gp is fun!" wont last. haha...

malaysian studies is boring. nuff said.


on thursday nite we had an event called 'freshie night 2'. the '2' being there coz there was one earlier this year for d jan intake. so anyways, paid rm10 for ticket. ended up seeing so many ppl coupling up... whoa. adli and lesley were already a couple b4 d nite la. den noticed some guys hanging out with some gals more den others... at least one person i noe confessed... another brought a date (and then left early.. duno do wat. 0.o!!! ), some left for somewhere more quiet... some danced together... some just stuck to each other... whoa. and me was alone. no girl paid much attention to me. haha... my closest buddies, jo n so, fell into one of d above categories. even vid as well. erlina too. perhaps not lorenzo. but.... even 16 yr old etara scored k! haha... perhaps i just wasnt in the 'looking for girl' mode lar. haha... i went there to haf a good time and a good time i had, save d hooking up with a girl part.

oh yeah, bday was on wednesday and only a handful wished me. haha... kinda funny actuali. 90% of my classmates didnt noe. not jo n so. til much later larh. when they saw d card dat vid made for me. (awww... so sweet!!). thanx also to zmin who MAILED me a card k. trademark zmin style. haha... bro bought me new pair of sneakers tday. dad getting me a new hp (it's abt time!), mum got me cake n got me some pants. but more important than those, i had a big bunch of friends wishing me! dat, i think is worth mentioning. thanx all!

well... still got music class tmr. aish. gtg do hw... as per my usual weekend routine. but then im going to see the dark knight on sunday with edwin and carmen n her church youth! whee...

just gonna be a short post... got music homework to cover up. lemme tell u abt my week! since tuesday, that is..

well fyi, dad and bro have been sending me and picking me up from college. coz yeah, im one of those losers with a driver's license but no car to drive. haha... like having fork and spoon but no food. -.-!!! anyways...

wednesday guess who came and picked me up from college! none other than chef tong himself, fresh from cs at a cc. so anyways, he fought valiantly against d traffic just so he could pick me up and go for dinner together. awww... such a great buddy. so there we were in sunway pyramid eating at a ramen shop called ajisen ramen. recommended by bro. ordered spicy beef noodles and i can honestly tell u, i've never ever ever eaten something THAT spicy. seriously. i couldn't even eat HALF of my bowl of noodles. of coz my dear friend mr.edwin started sweating after eating one piece of beef from my ramen la. haha... he's spicy intolerant. anyways... i had to order another bowl of plain soup so i could transfer all my ramen (without d spicy soup!!) into it and then eat normally. goshness. i must've gulped down a glass of ice green tea for each spoonful of ramen with soup. goodness!

so yeah. thursday and friday (today) i had d priviledge of driving to college and back! whee hee... haha. damn fun sia. potong ppl and all. paying for parking. driving with shades. with music from iPod blasting in car. parking. lolz. call me noob if you like, but im at d stage where i still find driving a thrilling thing kae. oh no, you can't take that away from me!

anyways... (i seem to be saying that a lot in my blog. hmmm...) met quite a lot of new ppl i can call friends now. i notice i tend to lepak with some more than others. jolien (ah lien), d tall chinese girl who is, unfortunately, taller than me. and drives a brand new saga. there's also sonisha (did i spell that correctly?) d rather thin indian girl who was ming sern's ex skul mate, subatra (or is it shubatra? shubathra? subathra?) d indian girl half jolien's height... and then there's vidhya, d malaysian indian (nationality always before ethnicity, says msian studies lecturer) girl who grew up in vietnam. a bit of wai wen and erlina every now and then, particularly during msian studies. there's also tina from india (although her real name is really really long... starts with citra i think.) and lydia. sometimes i talk to lesley too, and pinky from myanmmar. muhammad from iran. afiq from sbu. adli from vi. majd from iraq. gloria from korea (it rhymes!!). so yeah. my lepak buddies in college.

aih. weekend is gonna be even more hectic than weekdays. n dats sad, but my own doing larh. who ask me to join sjam rite? haha... but i enjoy myself. so... heck larh. tmr selling car stickers with miaow, den goin sjam appreciation dinner at nite, den sunday got music class at 4. gaaah!! which means i have very very little time to do my music homework. well... gtg! tahz.

college life... so far. well actually sunway's kinda near tho.

i have just finished my 2nd day at college and ALREADY, i'm feeling tired. not d tired-of-studying-tired but the tired... well. tired larh. as in, i wouldnt be up for a basketball game right now. perhaps cs or watching tv, and updating my blog, but not some vigorous activity lar. lemme give you an idea why.

as many of you know (or, if you're new here, NOW you know, (or, if you're a regular BUT you don't know, well... i don't blame ppl for not reading. =D ) ) i am now studying A levels in sunway university college. i am taking bio, chem, physics, math, and hopefully gp. for my 1st term which started yesterday all d way til d end of this year, i will also be having malaysian studies as my first LAN subject. now, many ppl are more inclined to do only 3 subjects and to take english instead of gp, coz well at least they have a more wholesome college life i guess. but alas, i am aiming for a medicine course, which is almost a certain 4 subject requirement to be even considered for d course.

anyways, my timetable is something like this.

monday: 8.30 til 4.30
tuesday: 8.30 til 5.30
weds: 8.30 til 5.30
thurs: 8.30 til 4.30
fri: 8.30 til 12.30 (but with possible many many many co-curricular activities and/or mentor/mentee session in the afternoon)

saturday: music class
sunday: church, perhaps, or st john ambulance.

well... it's quite tiring. class may be fun and all, but... it's the duration that kills. i mean, 2 hours per subject with ur butt firmly planted on the same seat for all 120 minutes? gosh. thank goodness for teachers like Mr. Rajah who teaches me physics. he gives us time out for toilet and/or quick buy at d cafeteria halfway thru his 2 hour class. gosh. it's tiring. and i havent even started gp/eng, nor any co-curricular activities. goshness.

i've bumped into quite a few ppl i previously know tho. like, from a different life lidat. haha. first of there's divya who's not only doin d same course but in d same intake and in d same class!! except for physics larh.
then there's qi kit. err. dont tink he's too enthu abt me being at sunway but nvm.
lip fei, my brother's girlfriend's sister has been there since january too.
keshinn, d ah lian from iris' church's lok lok nite who was reli, reli funny. haha. still is lar.
mei yan and sui yi, ex-cbners.

of course there are many many many new faces in my life now. my intake is so unique such that there is a nice mix of ppl. half are internationals. there are ppl from iraq, iran, india, myanmmar, korea, singapore, sabah, sarawak, lumut, nilai and then there are d klang valley ppl, a guy from sbu and a guy from vi (and me, a guy from sji!!). got malaysians who went to international schools and couldnt speak malay even if to say "tolong! dia curi beg saya!" or even "saya suka makan nasi lemak!". haha. there is an even mix of guys and girls, and some are my age, some 17, some 16, some 19, some 20. coolness.

funny story!! yesterday (first day of classes) i sat beside this malaysian-chinese-girl-who-dont-speak-bm-but-speaks-eng-with-ang-mo-accent in physics lab, and den i cracked one, ONE lame joke to her. and now she avoids me. lol! haiya... perhaps lameness is cultivated only in national schools. haha... unappreciated and thought to be 'weird' by others. can't blame her la reli. perhaps she ain't used to it. hahaha... but i still tink it's damn funny. someone avoiding me coz im lame. like im a lame-bomb waiting to explode anytime with lameness- IN YOUR FACE! haha...

did i mention i'm tired? gosh. gotta go... zz.

It's been awhile since i've blogged, right? yeah well... been busy for the past... urm... *counts... slowly...* 3 days or so? haha... why, you may ask. well... let me take you back in time to a day called tuesday at a place called midvalley and with who else but me and a girl named iris. supporting cast include an arcade, dome, a movie called wanted, washrooms, and a place called starbucks. a variety of other shops also make appearances somewhere.

well... that said, it's not much else to be said, is there? gosh. kay. went out with iris. ate lunch. watched movie. went arcade. had starbucks. dats it lorh. haha.

that was tuesday. on wednesday, ....... well on wednesday i was stoning around larh. stayed home and did my music homework...well, some of it anyways. couldn't finish. grade 8 theory isnt easy k!! and it's definetely not a quick job. it takes time.

on thursday my college life officially started... attended orientation. oh yeah, in case any lost souls reading this OR you just forgot (the latter being more likely) i am studying for A Levels at Sunway University College. back on track. orientation. usually the thing about orientation that always reaches our ears is being tortured, eggs and flour and water and gross stuff to eat and group activities and fun and disgusting stuff and getting close to lotsa ppl. but in sunway it was, really, strictly business. 10am-12noon: lecture lecture lecture. they put all of us pre-u students (a levels, canadian international matriculation programme - cimp, and monash university foundation year - mufy) in one big hall and got ppl to talk and talk and talk. first it was okay. talking about welcome to sunway, what the courses are actually like. and then it got slightly worse. and worse. and worse. til at one point (in between my short naps) there was a guy talking about cleanliness on campus and about recycling. gosh. luckily, i met up with an old (not age-wise, just... oh nevermind.) divya from mgs who quickly became my best buddy in the whole hall. haha... tried to chat up a sleepy looking korean girl but she wasnt really interested. gaahhh.

interesting story:

divya and i were so bored we decided to (well, more like i convinced her after begging and pleading) go down to the cafeteria where i needed coffee and she needed breakfast. so we both headed to the door... and there was this lady there. "where are you going?" i mumbled something about taking a break, but then divya said loudy: "toilet." "oh, the ladies' is that way." she points toward the other end of the back of the hall, which isnt really exiting the hall. "oh, i want to go out from here." "cannot. ladies' that way." "...." by which time i had taken this golden opportunity to slip out and lepak around the outside, chatting up the cf ppl who were giving out pamphlets.

15 minutes later divya and hordes of ppl came out. so apparently she didnt bother to go to the ladies' and just went back to sit down. lol!

interesting fact: did you know sunway college cafeteria has san fransisco coffee? and 1901? and used to have auntie annes? sorry lar if i noob or anything, just dat i've never been visiting around colleges much k.

so anyways.

today (friday) was 2nd day of orientation. again, no group activities, no games, no hello hello, no my name is mingwai what's yours oh shit that senior just cracked an egg on my head, no no no nothing. we did have a campus tour and an english placement test thought. and we were assigned student mentors for the next 3 weeks til we get our real mentors, any one of our lecturers larh. so we got these 2 girls named kar li and (cute!!) michelle. got their numbers ady. hah. not dat i asked larh. they gave mar. and they have all ours oso. so... shees. so potong stim ryte? if wana get phone number must ask one mar. dat way they'll suddenly be aware of your existence in their range of 'available' guys. my theory larh. altho i like it when ppl ask for my phone numbers instead of the other way round. pumps up your ego, aite? and no, asking for my phone number for official purposes like filling out a form does NOT count toward the ego thing.

so here i am back in ampang for the weekend. drove here from subang k! goshness. i think i'm getting the hang of driving. at least, i've been driving less timidly and more aggressively larh. conidence, i suppose.

miss me? sms larh. my phone everyday quite silent one. not just because i put it to silent mode larh, d only sms buddy i have now is iris. and she'll be starting her next sem on monday. =/
