teethless guitar and stage bassing

THIS is my brother's electric. quite cool eh? took this picture while waiting for him to finish his guitar class. but look closer. it's teethless. what? teethless? apa lu cakap ni?? well...

today my brother n his friend seng chye were going to perform 3 songs at endah parade (dats carrefour sri petaling) including the song collide by howie day. actually another guy, kelvin, was supposed to play lead guitar, but last minute had to attend a wedding somewhere in melaka (not his, btw) and so my brother suddenly had to play lead. so he needed me to play rhythm so he can practise his solo.

so we came all da way to subang house where all d guitars and amps are all at now (since i've shifted here...) and i strum strum strum his acoustic while he went and fiddle fiddle here and there with his solo... and den. his G-string putus. nonono, he wears briefs but i meant d G-string on his wife. nonono, not lip jeen my sis in law, d OTHER wife. his guitar!

so... we had to re-string his guitar. while he went for class i helped him take out all his old strings and that left........

a teethless guitar! haha... looks so vunerable and so weak without its strings.

anyways. we then went to endah parade and met up with seng chye and anthony-brain-is-lost who was there to sound check for them. they were in a 'hurry' so they ate at mac's while i had chicken rice at nam heong. den i joined dem at mac's and then....

seng chye goes, "hey ming wai! why don't you play bass with us?"

err....

so anyway, a few practice runs backstage then it was us.

bro n seng chye played a song called 'proud mary' where bro was on guitar and seng chye on bass. then the second song, collide. i went up and played bass and seng chye on acoustic and bro on lead. same settings for the 3rd song, interstate love song. coolness sia. playing bass for d first time in d middle of a mall. i onli played piano before in a mall, back when i was in primary school, as a performance representing my music centre, in d middle of mutiara jalan ipoh. so...

so yeah... i looked kinda emo/angry on stage coz i was concentrating hard on not screwing up... altho i did screw up d ending for interstate love song a bit... didnt noe it was d ending. lolz! but d sound system wasnt good enuf larh. bass sounded twangy and bro's distortion came out like fingernails on a chalkboard. not his fault, his playing was superb. just dat d sound systems couldn't take it. something somewhere exploded when he rocked it la i guess. haha...

so yeah, dats my little day out with bro. for d record, i drove from ampang to subang to sunway to sri petaling and back to subang and den to sunway. how's dat for driving? confident enuf to sit in my car anot? haha...

today was a whole day out with iris! haha... watched get smart for da 2nd time with her at pav. it still IS funny k! i laughed at every single joke... agin. no regrets! haha... had lunch at nando's.. had da weirdest pita i ever had. it was CALLED a pita but looked more like a burger. but it tasted good larh. haha...

dropped by nat's starbucks at kl plaza. got drinks on da house! and... chewing gum too. big thank you to both nat (fish) and jee for being so kind to me n iris. n btw... who goes to starbucks to drink green tea?? yeahp, u guessed it. dis lady here.




iris invited me to her church's youth function: lok lok nite! so yeah... since im looking for a church to go to, why not rite? and i might even score with a few gals there. and of coz, definitely make new friends! so... found ourselves in church at 5pm on a saturday. weird? nope. friday morning church in kelantan was weirder. haha...

we had games and all... fun all da way la. and of coz, we had our lok lok! my first time eating lok lok altho i've seen it around... im more of a steamboat person, mind you.



the lady and i. a real stunner, ain't she. wait til she opens her mouth and all her lameness is revealed. hah! somemore ppl call me lame. y'all havent met her onli ma... hahaha... im mild compared to her lameness k.

anyways... it's shifting to subang tmr for me! i'll be back on d weekends, dont worry. =D still in klang valley, no problem one. haha...

then along came this disgusting looking sushi... ergh!! wasabi flavoured octopus. looked like... i duno. some slimy n disgusting thing which succesfully stopped our craving for sushi. so after dat we didnt order anything else. btw... what is octopus in bm?

after a game of foosball (i won) and a game of pool (she didnt win) we went walking around and found ourselves in borders, reading random books from d humour section.

yup, we had a good laugh. quite a few good laughs actually...

if i were ever to compile a list of the wildest nights i have ever been through, last night would probably come in top 3 or perhaps even no.1, along side the 2 nights in genting when i was form 3, that whole night in the cc after finishing spm, or the few nights over last year's christmas til new years. well, back to last night.

at approx 4.30pm, i headed out from seri maya condo at ampang, carrying a backpack full of clothes (and music hw. haihhh...) and carrying my xbox360 in 2 bags. it was raining heavily. therefore, i had to carry both xbox bags in one hand (read: HEAVY!!) while shielding it with my umbrella. oh yeah, d umbrella also shielded me. haha.. my focus all wrong innit?

i took the lrt to masjid jamek, where i changed to star lrt and took d train to sri petaling. there, i walked over d street and entered International Medical University, IMU, where i was to meet my brother. meet him i did, at the music room. his buddies were there too, jamming. seng chye (llama), kelvin (bald like me), chong beng (chee bai) and anthony (brain-is-lost) and of course my brother (duckie/shorty). we jammed a few songs (i mean, we played a few songs together, not stuffed it somewhere where the sun dont shine) me occasionally playing bass and keyboard and backing vocals and well, doin nothing oso got. just watching. haha...

then anthony said, "hey let's go to curve. there's dis ice bar dats opening today, and it's free drinks and food."

basically we were all like yeay!! n my bro was going.. "well... got my brother leh... den wana study lar... and... and..." so i just said. okay lar im fine with it... so we went ahead and i drove my brother and i to curve.

here, i'll give u an approx time frame of wat i did there.

9.15pm: meet up with d guys.
9.30pm: vodka lime #1

yesterday.... was day out with li jia! we were on a low budget day... which turned out to be not-so-low-budget anyway. she'll be going to australia in july to further her studies and (hopefully) her love life. haha...

we went to midvalley and first things first: food. lunch lar. we decided to go to italiannies and have some (duh...) italian food!

li jia is goin away soon... =(

bread and wine. sound familiar? like, last supper familiar? haha...

honestly in all my years of italian food, i have NEVER come across a pizza like this before. it's smoked salmon pizza, which i thought they'd cut up the salmon into pieces but no! they're slice by slice and there's one for each pizza slice. whoa.

yes, we shared a glass of house red wine. not the premium one, the normal one larh...

...which li jia wasted no time in gulping down. haha...

so we went to brewballs and for the 4th time in one week, i played pool. whee... first was last monday with kheng lam, ooi hoon, and elaine, den on tuesday with kheng lam, ooi hoon and michelle, den on sunday with dad and bro at asia cafe. well erh, li jia is not bad for a beginner. she put in quite a few balls! even got some guys staring at her butt when it was her turn. hahaha... let's hope her luck is better in australia, shall we? in d guy department i mean.. =p

we also did a little bit of foosball, which surprised me coz she scored d first goal and not by mistake either. she's fast. haha... (final score: 7-2)

then coz we felt tired and thirsty, we went to have a drink at.... no, not starbucks. low budget rmbr? we went to burger king. yes, burger king. why? coz we get free refills there. haha... so then we decided it's time to get home larh. sleepy and tired and all. just for kicks we took d bus to bangsar lrt instead of ktm to kl sentral. it was free, and more comfortable, and about the same duration. then we reached bangsar lrt, and saw this:

goodness!! it was just 6pm when we got there and the crowd was huge! we waited for half and hour to get squeezed into a train. we must've skipped 10 trains or something. waiting and waiting and waiting... whoa.

but nevertheless, we were still happy dat we got to hang out! haha...

oh yeah, when i got onto d train d doors almost clipped my butt but kena my shoe instead. den from bangsar to kl sentral my back was to d door and there was dis cute chick facing me on my left. and.... yes, she was boobing me. all d way to kl sentral where she got down. wat a ride.

today i stayed home all day... nobody else i can think of who wud lepak with me. besides, im a lil tired and later on is music class, so even if i go out i cant stay for long... anyways. tmr is still free for me, but i gotta go to my bro's uni at 6.30 den i'll be staying over at my dad's place til saturday. well, my soon-to-be home leh. anyways... i'll still be open for lepaking lah dis week. but saturday im going for sbu's sjam gathering and then got fa class in d afternoon, den it'll be fa exam on sunday. d days are just packed, aint they? hmm.... not packed enuf for me. kinda lonely most of d time. =/

assassin's creed! woohoo! damn cool leh play him. altair (the character u play) is damn cool. i can throw knives with deadly accuracy from far. like, from one rooftop i see a guard at the rooftop across the street, i just lock on target and whoosh! the man goes down without a sound. i only can have 5 of those tho. if im down on knives, i just have to pickpocket thugs who carry knives. then voila! i have my 5 throwing knives again. haha... just one of those cool things i get to do as altair.

then i got lonely. last night i asked michelle out for lunch, coz her college is so near my place. she busy, so... nvm larh. den tday i thought of who else i cud ask out. then... it popped up in my mind! smsed winnie, the 4 balak aka ketua keseluruhan wirawati from my ns camp. she's the highest ranked girl. the highest ranked guy is the same rank as she is. got 4 stripes leh her shoulder ranks. haha.. me only 2. so i called her dai ka jie once, n she whacked me real hard. haha... anyway, i asked her out for a drink at klcc after her college. and... we found ourselves in dome, klcc. had ice coffee. mm... nice leh. den she had to get back home after an hour or so wasting her time with me. haha... here she is. only had enuf time to snap one photo.

So yeah, we basically had a whole day of pool... and a bit of foosball... ate lunch before that... den teman chee kian, suang fu, fiona and... erh... her friend (sorry i forgot ur name! u left early marh...) eat at pizza hut... den while d others went home, mich went off with her guy, and so left me and ooi hoon. guess what we did? yeahp. pool again. one on one dis time. not bad leh, she won me once. haha... she goin back to melaka soon dy. all d best yeah!! 3.74 aggregate out of a perfect score of 4.0. geng... very geng... i will kalah very badly...

tmr? well. whatever tomorrow brings i'll be there with open arms and... maybe not open eyes til about 12noon. heh.
